Apple hat seine MacBook-Pro-Modelle mit Retina-Display überarbeitet und bietet diese nun mit etwas schnelleren Prozessoren und mehr Arbeitsspeicher an. Als Betriebssystem dient OS X Mavericks.

Die Standard-Modelle der 13-Zöller unterscheiden sich in erster Linie durch den integrierten Flashspeicher und die verbauten Prozessoren – es gibt sie mit 128, 256 und 512 GByte. In den ersten beiden Varianten rechnet ein Intel Dual-Core i5 mit 2,6 GHz, der durch Turbo-Boost zeitweise 3,1 GHz erreicht. Bei der 512-GByte-Variante kommt ein Intel Dual-Core i5 mit 2,8 GHz zum Einsatz, der zeitweise auch mit 3,3 GHz taktet. Bei allen Modellen sind 8 GByte Arbeitsspeicher verbaut.

Im Apple Online Store lässt sich die Hardware gegen Aufpreis auch mit 16 GByte RAM und anderen Prozessoren ordern. Zur Wahl steht hier ein Intel Core i5 mit 2,8 GHz oder eine Intel Core i7 mit 3,0 GHz. Die Preise der Standard-Modelle bewegen sich zwischen rund 1.300 bis 1800 Euro.

Die 15-Zöller gibt es mit 256 und 512 GByte Flashspeicher. In der 256-GByte-Variante arbeitet ein Intel Quad-Core i7 Prozessor mit 2,2 GHz und 3,4 GHz Turbo-Boost. In der größeren 512-GByte-Version arbeitet ein Intel Quad-Core i7 mit 2,5 GHz und 3,7 GHz Turbo-Boost. Beiden Modellen gemein ist die Kapazität des Arbeitsspeichers mit 16 GByte. Für ausreichend Grafik-Power sorgt im 256-GByte-Modell die integrierte Grafikeinheit Intel Iris Pro Graphics. In der größeren 512-GByte-Version ist zusätzlich eine Nvidia-Grafikkarte verbaut - die GeForce GT 750M mit 2 GByte RAM.
